Programs of this type:
 Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) 
The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) is designed to help low income residents save fuel and money, while increasing the comfort of their homes.
Eligibility is determined by family size and household income in accordance with federal guidelines. Weatherization services are free to households that qualify (see url below)
 
 Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) 
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to assist eligible low-income households pay for winter energy services. LIHEAP will provide a one-time benefit to eligible households to be used for energy bills. The amount of payment is determined by income, household size, fuel type, and geographic location.

 CEDAs Home Weatherization 
Through CEDA's Home Weatherization program, homeowners and qualified renters may receive attic and sidewall insulation, caulking and weather-stripping, window and door replacement and repair to help make homes more energy effecient. Home Weatherization can also include furnace cleaning and tuning, repair, retrofit or replacement. Weatherization work is performed at no cost to eligible homeowners and renters. The Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Program is also a component of the Weatherization Program. Other programs are ECHR and Mold &Moisture.

 Illinois Homeless Shelter Energy Conservation Program 
In cooperation with the Illinois Department of Public Aid, DCEO provides grants and technical assistance to providers of shelter to the homeless. Grants allow the providers to reduce utility costs and use the savings to supplement their budgets for other services to the homeless.
