  Description:  Rental programs can vary a great deal based on need. Programs may include public housing options for low-income residents, programs for displaced renters, or information programs focusing on renters rights.

 Chicago Rents Right 
The City of Chicago, in partnership with organizations which represent both tenants and landlords, has formed Chicago Rents Right to educate Chicagoans about the right way to rent. With over 57% of Chicagoans living in rental housing, successful relationips between tenants and landlords are essential to fostering the healthy neighborhoods that make up a vibrant Chicago. Good tenants and landlords invest in their buildings, neighborhoods and the City.
 
 Aurora- Tenant Relocation Assistance Program 
The City of Aurora, through the Community Development Block Grant Program, will pay up to $500 for tenant relocation that happens as a result of a disaster or of posting by the City's Property Standards Division as unfit for human habitation. Funds will be paid to the landlord for the new unit.
Client must income qualify.
 
 HUD- Public Housing Renting In Illinois 
To apply for public housing or Housing Choice (Section 8) vouchers, you will need to visit your local public housing agency. Many have long waiting lists, so you may want to apply at more than one public housing agency.
HUD sets the lower income limits at 80% and very low income limits at 50% of the median income for the county or metropolitan area in which you choose to live.

Housing choice vouchers allow very low-income families to choose and lease or purchase safe, decent, and affordable privately-owned rental housing.

 HUD- Relocation Assistance to tenants displaced 
Information on relocation assistance available to individuals or families displaced from their homes as a direct result of rehabilitation, demolition or acquisition for a project in which federal funds were used.

 Housing Opportunity Program 
When making any decision, it’s always nice to know all of your options. That’s the objective of CHAC’s Housing Opportunity Program---to make sure that families with vouchers explore all of their housing options. There are more than 77 neighborhoods in Chicago, and families with vouchers may choose to live in any one of them. Opportunity Neighborhoods, those where less than 24 percent of the population has income below the poverty line, are particularly attractive areas, especially for families with children.
